What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? North Carolina

So long story short. I rode with a friend of mine to pick a boat that he was buying from a man he knew. After picking the boat up we got pulled over on the way home and were informed that the boat had been reported stolen. Now, we cant find the man that sold my friend the boat and now for just being in the car im facing fourth degree larceny charges and possesion of stolen good charges. The person i was with has already informed the police that i had no part in buying it or anything that i had just rode with. Ive already got a lawyer but what could be the outcome of this?
