What is the name of your state? Florida

My boyfriend and I live together. He has a computer that I use as well for school work and email. I find that he has a lot of porn. Typically I delete what I find (not nice I know). One of the video clips he had involved a girl that looked somewhat young. SHe may have been 18, but I wasn't sure. Can I get in trouble if he has inappropriate material on his computer? I've not seen anything else that has been questionable, but I have been trying not to break his privacy by looking at and deleting his porn. What are the laws if the person you live with has porn on their computer? I am thinking of getting my own computer to avoid the aggrevation, but my friend told me that even if I live in the same house and he has inappropriate material, I am just as liable. Is this true?

Thanks for any information.

If your boyfriend possesses an image of underage girl, he is breaking a law. Since you are living with him which you have knowledge that he is doing this, you are also breaking a law. You have an obligation to report him to the police if you don't want to be prosecuted. You could be charged as an accomplice.

Think about it.

Good Luck, Combat

I don't intend to question you, Combat, but I was just wondering how they would prove she knew about it..especially since her boyfriend doesn't know that she knows. And would it really be worth it to tell the police, have them raid his computer, and ruin their relationship if she's not even sure if the girl is a minor? Just curious...thanks.

If he had child porno, that doesn't concernyou to the point of giving him an ultimatum at the least? Stop the porn altogether or you dump him? I was molested by a guy like this when I was FIVE! Kick his ass out if you find the person is under 18. But keep in mind that some websites try to find over-18 people who look like teens. It's sick! Porn is disrespectful in a relationship and you shouldn't have to deal with it. If my fiance wants to see a naked woman, he has me, and vice versa. Period.

I'm just saying that if she waited any longer without telling, she would be in a big trouble. Of course, it would only be if he actually have that kind of picture.

What if that boy showed an image to somebody else like his friend, then that person would tell on him. That girl would be in a big trouble. The author just asked what laws concerned this. I just told what would had happened.

For their relationship, if she still wants to have relationship, she better straighten out before anything bad happen.

Regards, Combat

I completely agree with you Combat, I was just wondering is she'd still get in trouble if she didn't know about the porn. And if she wouldn't, then how do they prove she knew about it in the first place?? I totally agree that it's pretty scummy either way though, and think that maybe she should talk to her boyfriend about it first. If he admits that it's underage porn, then she shoud definitely turn him in cause that would make him a disgusting pervert!!! Thanks for answering Combat. I guess I'm just too curious for my own good sometimes. LOL

thanks

Thank you so much for your replies.
I asked him about the pictures, and he told me that he has never knowingly downloaded anything with underage girls. He did not think the girl in the picture was underage, but he deleted it anyways. I have told him that I am uncomfortable with the porn on the computer, and he told me that he will stop looking online. I would much rather him have a playboy that is legal than question the legality of what he has found on line. I will definately be keeping an eye out for anything else.

Thanks again Combat and others.
