What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Virginia.

I was caught in the unfortunate act of shoplifting, but Security only banned me from the store and let me go, saying they "wouldn't press charges." I'm not sure whether an undercover police officer was present or not.

Is it on my record, or not?!
