If my ex boyfriend deposited a check that was payable to both of us into an account that only belonged to him can I press charges? If so what charges? And how long after it was deposited do I have to press charges?

Was the check made out to X an Y or X or Y. That makes a difference. Where did this check come from?

It was made like this:

John Doe
Jane Doe
134 Happy St
Nashville TN 37211

Check was from our joint home loan account as a refund.

He signed it and cashed it. I think above I said deposited but his bank did verify it was cashed.

The word "and" is not in the payee line ~ he cashed his check.
