What is the name of your state? California
If my husband is in jail for felony charges and he has a public defender, it is my understanding that a public defender can charge what the state feels the defendandt can afford. Can my wages be attached by the state for his defense, since we are still married? California is a community property state.

ask the public defender. I dont think you would be responsible for your husband's defense costs. Yet, his share of the community property if at a certain value may result in him not being qualified to be represented by a PD.
