i live in austin tx
i would like advice for my son who is in the marines, and committed a felony while he was here on an unathorized abscence....is he entitled to a military lawyer. He has not been discharged from the military.

The jurisdiction that has charged him is responsible for legal representation if he cannot afford it. After the civilian courts get done with him, he will most likely spend some time dealing with military court martials. Then he will receive help from a military lawyer.
