In case of action civil suits where trial record is proven to be void can a federal judge sua sponte dismiss the action where the defendants failed to reply?

Can federal judge determine or declare the signature o the complantiss unaunthentic or not a source of evidence as proof of service in the suit where service would amount to $3 million default judgement against the defendant?
