What laws would prevent a company from running and profitting from a classifieds website in which escorts advertise their services outside of the U.S.? Note that the escorts only work internationally, but the company charges a fee per post.

Sorry, this forum is for US law only.

Exactly. The site is operated from within the U.S., but it only deals with escorts working internationally.
Consult with a local attorney who is familiar with international and criminal law. That attorney can refer you to other attorneys in related fields. For the record, if you mean "escort" as in an assistant to accompany one on a business trip, there's really no problem. I suspect that's not what you mean though, is it?

Thank you for your response, but I was hoping that someone might provide an answer other than "talk to an attorney."

Your request was basically: I plan to advertise in the US for an activity outside the US. Please list all related laws that may affect me. I don't know how you could expect any other answer...

To be conservative, let's just say there are hundreds. Your request is really beyond the scope of an internet forum. Legal counsel is a business expense - use some of your profits to pay for it.

Thousands...

In many jurisdictions and the laws may conflict with each other.

To start your search of all of the laws that can come into play with your online venture, you can look up the US "Travel Act." You can continue your search by looking online for the government's case against RentBoy.

Operating an "escort" service will no doubt get you investigated. You have in countries around the world various and assorted prostitution laws and human trafficking laws that must be considered.

I predict with your escort service that you will get to know well a few federal agents. I also predict that any and all profits you might make from your enterprise eventually will be turned over to the attorney you hire for your legal defense.

You would probably be smart to take Zigner's advice and see an attorney now, this to avoid legal problems later.
