Hello. I run a parody site at http://encyclopediadramatica.com . It allows any and all registered users to post parodies and comical entires into a fake encyclopedia Brittanica-style article.
We feature a different article every week. This week's feature located here: http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/index.php/Amalea is accusing us of 'stalking' and harassment. I didn't write the original article, I simply edited it for grammar, but I am the site owner. Nowhere on the site is physical harm mentioned or threats made. Apparently she is attempting to contact law enforcement and take other legal action. However, she has not made any contract formal or informal with myself or the other site owner voicing this.
I don't want to have to alter our content for everyone who gets their feelings hurt. It's a single article on a large website. We have a disclaimer describing that we are not liable for content and the site is strictly a parody/satire respository. Does she have a civil or criminal claim? What should I do to protect myself in this instance and in the future?
Again, keep in mind I own and host the site, but anyone on the internet can make changes or edits to any of the content therein.
Thank you in advance.
