What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? FL

My friend wants to save his marriage... his separated wife is here in Florida. Her personality has changed drastically overnight and she has adopted an unsafe lifestyle. We are afraid for her safety and well-being.

He is down here in FL now and wants to "take her to dinner". Then, instead of stopping for dinner, he wants to drive straight to TN, to get her some psychological help.

Is this illegal? His intentions are honorable and we all are worried for her safety and health and life. She'd, of course, be getting in the car willingly. They are on speaking terms. Based on this particular situation, this feels like a last resort. But, of course, he doesn't want to break the law. Can someone please advise asap?

Thanks.

No. that is not legal> SHE is an adult. She is presumed to be competent. He has no right to take her anywhere without her permission and consent. She may get into the car willingly under the lie of "taking her to dinner" but that is different than crossing state lines and forcing her for medical treatment (which he couldnt' do either). How many crimes does he want to try to break with this stupidity?

Ok, thanks for the reply. My friend has decided against doing that for now... we are both going to just continue to try to talk to her and hope we can get her to agree to come willingly and get some professional help.
