i live in nd and i have a court date to appear in new mexico next month. i have had an arraingment already on the phone and when i got my paperwork to sign i noticed that my name and b-day were correct but they had my husbands social security # down instead of mine. the amount of the check that i had written was also wrong. the da wants me to sign the papers and send them back but was wondering if i should get a public defender to go in on my behalf on the court date and does it make a difference that they have the wrong social security # on the paperwork? any advice would be appreciated. thx
