What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Ohio

Someone is stealing from the company I work for. The owner is aware and investigating. It appears it amounts to over $5,000 since the beginning of the year. He will terminate the individual, but if he does not prosecute or report it to someone, is he guilty of any offenses? If he does not report it and I am aware of this, am I guilty of any offenses?

The manner in which management decides to handle this situation is not your concern, unless you are the thief.

If he is the SOLE owner and thereby the only person/entity who is 'damaged', he doesn't have to prosecute or report if he doesn't want to.

It could be possible that you would be 'obstructing justice', but if there is no report of the claim by the VICTIM.... you likely would not be in violation.
