What is the name of your state?

The state is New York. I am considering obtaining employment as a driver for an escort service. What are the legal ramifications for me?What is the name of your state?

Prostitution is still a crime.

Working as a driver for the prostitution company makes you part of the criminal organization and a accessory to the crime.

It would be different if you were a employee of a common carrier (i.e, a limosine company that just happened to have a prostitute as a customer).

I know it's not that hard to stay legal

I do understand that if a driver is a willing accomplice to prostitution that the driver would have the full liability of that crime, BUT . . . escort companies clearly do operate without getting busted. The key is to make it very clear, in writing, that the services provided by the dancer is dancing, stripping, companionship, etc, but NOT sex or any illegal acts.

Would it be possible for the driver to have a legal document for the dancer to sign so she warrants against any illegal activities? Wouldn't that be an affirmative defense if she did then turn around and do something illegal?

I'm not an attorney nor do I play one on TV but I was an escort for a couple years . . .

Can a lawyer weigh in on this or the original answerer clarify a bit?

thanks
