What is the name of your state? North Carolina

My Goddaughter has been charged with forgery and uttering in Lancaster SC and the warrant to Extradite to SC was issued for arrest in Concord NC, her residence at that time on 9-29-03. The Concord court believed her innocence and released her without bail and appointed a Public Defender for her. All we were told by the Lancaster PD was that a checking account was opened and multiple checks were written in several SC cities. We believe it was a former friend that has similar looks, but we don't know how the account was opened or with what bank. The Concord Public Defender says that it will have to be settled in Lancaster. Our question is is that true? I'm going to help her now with a lawyer if needed but should we try to fight it in NC or SC?

The Lancaster PD has intimidated her where she is scared that all they will do is arrest her if she goes down there to meet with them. They are not interested in any of the evidence that she can prove her residence in Concord or whereabouts on dates that some of checks might of been written.
