New Castle County, Delaware:

I lent money to a friend & had him sign a promissory note. I hold 2 of his vehicles as collateral. My name is on the titles as the lienholder & I have the titles in my safe. He has not made his payments as scheduled, refuses to return phone calls, & has hidden the vehicles so that I can not repo them.

The court has awarded me a judgment, and will process my wage attachment once they have recorded the judgment. I do not think he will keep his job once he realizes he has been wage attached. I want to repo the vehicles, so I can sell them & minimize my losses.

I have been told that I can file a police report listing the vehicles as stolen. Then if the police ever pull these vehicles over I would gain possession of them. Is this true? (Desperate times call for desperate measures!)

Also, I have found out that my deadbeat has sold the car to his Aunt & Uncle. I have my lien on the title, so I do not see how he could have done this. Can I file a police report for fraud etc.?

I do not know where the Aunt & Uncle live, so I do not know where to go to try to repo the vehicle.

Any suggestions? As far as I am concerned this man is a thief.
