I am scheduled for general sessions court on 1/28/02. Last Thursday (last meeting with lawyer) my lawyer said that he was going to request a meeting with solicitor and said we WOULDN'T be going to court on 28th. Next day I got reminder from solicitor's office of court date so I called law office same day and lady who answers the phone said that she was the one who talked to the solicitor handling my case and that they knew I would not be there.

Is this normal procedure? Should I have not gotten anything from solicitor's office indicating they knew I wasn't going to be there or should I expect a bench warrant that morning? If I go there what am I suppose to say when my lawyer isn't going to be there. This is in SC.

If your Lawyer told you that you dont need to appear, and so did the courts....what are you worried about?
Yes....this is common practice in some types of cases.
