grand theft auto restitution?

how do i recieve the restitution money the court will award to me for the damage done to my car (1987 Buick GN) do i have to wait for the guilty party to pay that could take a while if they're in jail?

It will be strictly up to you, not the court, to collect any court ordered restitution. It will be just like suing someone without filing a lawsuit. You can get more information here.
