I was recently involved in an altercation, where I attacked my roomate at college. I am wondering how the state of illinois defines great bodily harm. My roomate was seen by paramedics, and refused to go to the hospital. Then next morning he awoke with blurry vision and nausia, he went the ER where they administered a battery of tests on him, and they found nothing to be wrong with him, but they said he MAY have future neurological problems. His face was very bruised but nothing was broken, is this considered great bodily harm, can I be charged with aggravated assault??
