Gun purchase problem

What is the name of your state? Georgia/Florida.
Over thirty years ago at age 22 I plead no-contest to a misdemeanor marijuana charge in Florida. I now live in Georgia and was surprised to learn I cannot buy a firearm because of the misdeanor conviction.
Can I still own the guns I have in my possesion? Can I buy a firearm from a private individual, estate sale, gun show, etc?
