What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Houston, Texas.

This question is for a lady who is a family friend.

This a lady has a son who left to the states when he was a teenager (probably in the 1990s), he should be in his 30s now and the family don't know anything about their son. The family lives here in Canada and their son lives in the states and they want to look for him but they don't know what to do or how to start looking for him!!
The son of this lady lifted a gun in the face of a policeman, and he was on probation when he did that. So, the guy is in a big big trouble!!
This lady wants to clear his file but she can not find her son. So, is it possible for her to clear his file without his presence? If yes, what are the steps that she is supposed to take?

Thank you very much in advance, I really appreciate your participation.

Cheers,

The lady should contact an attorney in Canada and ask these questions of him. The laws in Canada often differ in significant ways from the laws in the U.S.

The lady could also look into hiring a private detective to search for her son.

Good luck to her, to you, and to whoever else may need it (I imagine one of those may be the son ;)).
