I took a shirt from a department store that was valued at $85 on my way out of the store a police officer stopped me and asked me to come to a back room where he reviewed a tape of me shoplifting. He then cited me for misdemeanor larceny. This is my first offense and I am wondering whether I should get a lawyer or try to handle this myself? Also whether this can be taken off my record?
