i live in sydney Australia and i need help with a problem a freind has got himself into

as it stands he has stolen close to $200,000.00 from the company he worked for now they have found out and are going to press charges
what is the best way to help my friend out and try to keep im out of jail
there were other factors involed as in gambleing and a partner from his work used to get him to cash checks from the company so they could gamble he wont turn on his friend but i cant stand by and let him lose his son is there any thing i can do ????????
