What is the name of your state? NY

Does anyone know the statute of limitations on pursuing someone in civil court for identity theft? The ex used my SSN to open credit cards in my name while I was busy having a baby almost two years ago.

I can't find anything and the NY attorney general is useless, so are my local legislators. No one can tell me if it's 2 years, 3 years, 7 years? I just want to know if I'm out of time to file a small claims action.
