No but maybe it would be nice if you report the link to everyone.

I would even bring the webaddress to the local precinct. I mean I don't know if that will do anything, but it will help if anyone has any questions as to your level of horror.

not sure I would do that. I have read of situations where people associated with 4chan /b/ site have downloaded images onto the computers of visitors to the site.

One of the million quatrillion reasons I don't ever visit just any porn site.

My brother is an addict and any computer he has for any amount of time away from anyone else, ALWAYS comes back with a porn transmitted diseases of crashing and popuping.. ugh its terrible.

If I need any porn, I go to the one site I use, and I don't watch it for hours, click links, and spend just enough time... I have not had any problems.

So my advice is stop watching porn.

902, the Justice dept. knows that people surfing at times accidentally come across child porn.

I myself have clicked on links, say to movie stars, and the old domain had beeen purchased and there was porn. I just have never linked child porn, but I suppose it can happen as any other misleading link opened.

justalayman, you probably know more about this than I do. When an IP address is logged on a site, can it monitor how long a person visited it?

The poster said he signed off right away. If they can measure time, and the sign off was immediate, then that basically proves no intent to further view it.

We have already determined your chances of getting in any troubble for this, slim to none.

I get the disturbed feeling, you will get over it. learn a lesson about internet porn. Its dangerous.

No, she is not an attorney. I already stated the Justice dept. knows surfers can come across it by accident.

ADULT porn is 1st AM protected to view, that is the law on that.

CHILD porn is not.

click or copy and paste is irrelevant.

going to a site you know, or you suspect, has child porn is illegal. Going to a site and having it tossed in your face is not. If you remain at the site, it can be viewed as intent to view child porn; illegal.

justalayman, you probably know more about this than I do. When an IP address is logged on a site, can it monitor how long a person visited it?
yes, the server logs at the site record IP addresses, log in times and log out times. If a person hung around, it could be found by those logs.

ss902; I don't know what browser you have but if you look at the "history" it will show every link you go to. If you have a router, it will also be recorded in the history there as well. Most have at least the time you connected. If you look at when you logged into the porn page and then look at the next site visited, you can figure out how long you were there and so can anybody else that investigates your computer can as well.

There are also cookies from most sites, especially porn sites. That is another method of discovering visited sites.

Not trying to freak you out SS902. If you are being honest about the in and out, it will be discoverable on your computer should anything ever be questioned. As long as there isn't an in and out, in and out, in and out, etc. history but was a simple one shot deal, I wouldn't be too concerned about it.
