What is the name of your state? ca. what does it mean when a police report is impeachable in terms of the report being used as evidence by the prosecution in a criminal case? how does the defense go about achieving this point?

Police reports are inadmissible hearsay, so the prosecution does not introduce the report but the testimony of the officer. The defense does not impeach a police report, but the police officer's testimony. For example, if he says something on the stand, you can impeach him by showing he said something different in his police report. If his testimony is consistent with the police report, you can try to impeach him with the contrary testimony of other witnesses.
