What is the name of your state? CA
Greetings,
So, my boyfriend and I have been dating for a couple of years, and some months back he confided that, before we met, he sent a picture of his genetalia to a woman he met through the "adultfriendfinder" website. it's basically a swinger's site, where people hookup for casual sex. When I finished ridiculing him (he was very, very embarrassed), I let it go...it happened before we met, he was going through a tough time, had low self-image, yadda-yadda. Besides we were both hiv/std tested before we started dating.
In any case, he gets nervous that what he did was illegal, and I have to hear about it over and over again! He probably has a worrying disorder...if it's not this, than it's something else lately.
So, we're trying to get clarification on the law. I've told him that I don't think he has anything to worry about...
1. It's not illegal for consenting adults to send sex pictures (non-obscene, obviously not child-related).
2. Members at the site (where he met her) post pictures; there's a warning upon entry to the site, and you must create an account with a credit card to post pictures. It's obvious why people subscribe.
3. Even if it was a minor pretending to be an adult (who maybe even stole a parent's credit card to register), it would have to be proven that he KNOWINGLY sent a picture to a minor.
Am I right in these assumptions? Help me shut my boyfriend up!
Thanks
