What is the name of your state? Mississippi, I have a friend that bought a vehicle from a used lot. Wrote them a 500.00 down payment check the car lot promised to fix the a/c in the vehicle is the only reason he bought the car. After they suckered him into going ahead and signing the papers on the car and he could bring it back at a later time he done all the paper work paid them their check came back next day they looked at a/c they tried putting coolant in it. Said try that it didnt work. He called them back and told them it didnt work they said that he had already bought the car as is and they wasnt doing anything about it. He stopped payment on their down payment check and told them when they fixed the car he would pay them what he owed. And if they didnt want to fix the car they could come get it. Well after 2 months they finally want the car he gave it back to them they are saying they are going to file crimal charges on him and have him arrested. Can they do this? And if he files bankruptcy can they do it?

A1) Probably not, but what are they threatening to charge him with???

Q2) "And if he files bankruptcy can they do it?"
A2) Bankruptcy would have NO effect on any criminal charges.
