My friend was sentenced today for attemted felonious assault. He was sentenced to 1 year jail time. His attorney told us that after 6 months he can apply for early release. He says he cannot apply any sooner because it was a crime of violence. He said had it been anything else he could have applied after 30 days. Is that true? Will the victim caliing in aand writing in make a difference?

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

Basically you are asking for leniancy on an obvious felonious crime. A very serious crime????????

Well, why don't you research it?
