My 16 year old son was arrested for criminal trespass. His probation officer tells me I need a lawyer when he goes to court, even though he is going to plead guilty. He was arrested one other time and we went to court without a lawyer, plead guilty and were done with it. I can't afford a lawyer, but can't have one appointed for me, because we make "too much money". Does he absolutely have to have a lawyer present with him?
