Is it legal to visit a dominatrix in New York State

Is It legal to see/pay a dominatrix in New York State (Buffalo area)? I am not looking to engage in sexual acts simply BDSM role play, I have found an interesting Dom whom I've contacted via e-mail and she would like to meet in public to talk before we begin a session. I had always thought domination was legal but this meeting in public worries me. If she's cautious about who she meets I understand but if I am wrong and domination is illegal I'm worried I'll be carted away. Please confirm or assuage my fears.....
    Thank you

sounds like she wants to make sure you aren't a creep.

ask her for her ID as soon as you meet her.

Thank you for the reply! I hoped/assumed as much and I'm glad she does that. I'm just not certain that seeing a dominatrix is legal? I don't want to be arrested for solicitation or some other offense as I'm not really looking for sex. Is there anyone who can enlighten me as to the legality of seeing a pro dom?

since you are into bondage, I would think you would want to know she is not into something more than bondage as well. Once you are tied up, you are at her mercy and if she turns into Jeffrey Dahmer, you will then realize a public meeting might have been a good idea.

as to legality: not sure myself but I believe it is legal. You might try contacting the police or even the DA's office and asking.

While I've never heard of anyone being prosecuted for it, doesn't mean it can't happen. Here are some possibilities:

    (Note sub. "b")

Plus, there are tons of prostitution-related offenses, so be sure your new friend is on the up and up.

Good luck? (Not sure what proper bondage etiquette calls for here)

Perhaps she wants to check you out before you are given the location of the secret playroom.

This is a very safe idea on her part. She does not need a stalker.

    Bring out the Gimp....

Most acts of BDSM are illegal whether consensual or not, the act of paying for
BDSM makes the situation even more questionable-especially if there is a falling out by participants.

what is this country coming to when they infringe upon your rights to go out and have some big ol' mean broad kick your junk around? I mean, geesh, what's next?

If I want somebody to kick my junk around or do other odd acts, why should anybody believe I do not have that right?

    geesh!!

If you want your junk kicked around, just get married. It comes as part of the package.

(And for the record, I answered this one more for its connection to NY law than for the junk-kicking).

I know that. Hopefully you knew I was only speaking in jest. If not, my apologies. I enjoy and respect your input here.

No need - I should probably just sprinkle those smileys in my posts a bit more liberally to avoid confusion.

And besides, I'm much more into granny porn than bondage.
