I live in the state of Wisconsin and need to know if it is legal even for my wife if she opens credit card statements addressed in my name, delivered to home address and I am not there and she has no authorization to open the mail , she takes coutesy checks and cashes them???

According to the U.S. Postal Service, it is not a violation of law for a permanent resident of the address to open any mail delivered to that address, no matter whom the mail is addressed to.
