Missing check endorsement

Hi. I recently received a check for 780 in the mail from my home/auto insurance company. I was expecting a check from them on an overpayment from my previous statement. This check made out to myself and my ex-wife, and was not the check I was expecting, and I did not know what it was for. I signed it and deposited this check without her endorsement, presuming this was ok. This check was cleared by my bank. My ex is now accusing me of a crime. Have I committed a crime? Can I be arrested? What recourse do I have? What recourse does she have?

my suggestion would be to resolve it with her and pay her half of what the check was for. How did she find about the check and what was it for?
