my daughther witnesseded a stabbing

What is the name of your state? CA MY daughter witnessed a stabbbing acutally she was about 20 to 30 feet away and didn't know it was a stabbing until she went to assist the person on the ground. She has been supenaed to court does she have to go? She will miss college classes and also have to give up a $1000 modeling job. The phone # on the supenea only has an automated messge. This occured in San Diego CA. The suppena was mailed to a friends house and not delivered personally to her. We had just moved to TN and I I'd come out to help her drive her car across country. She just moved back to CA last month to attend college and model so she is there again. Does she have to go to court?

If she was not personally served, she has no legal obligation to appear. However, to be safe since you do not want a body attachment issued and have her hauled into court, make sure you try and reach the party that is trying to get her to testify.

Did the prosecution or defense subpoena her?
