What is the name of your state? i have a friend in Texas who is being served with papers from the DA's office for bad checks totalling around $600 from 10 yrs ago. what should he do and isn't there a statue of limitations on this? tyvm

Yes, there is a statute of limitation on "issuance of bad check." The statute of limitation is 2 years for a misdemeanor and "issuance of bad check" is a misdemeanor. The DA would know this. Therefore when your friend is served with the paper, he needs to take a look at the papers to see what those papers are for.
