A friend was arrested for grand theft auto, and burglary conveyance unoccupied he was not seen taking the vehicle, in the vehicle or arrested at that time. The only thing they have as evidence is a note his fiance wrote saying he did it(first name only), and where they could find the car.they then left town. she now is being questioned by the police and they want to use her as a witness when in actuallity she saw nothing she has spoken to the detective and reserved her 5th amendment rights and right to a lawyer for her own protection, so she does not incriminate herself in aiding and abedding after the fact. the detective told her it doesn't work like that, if she isn't willing to be their witness then she will also be charged and a warrant will be issued for her arrest. can she also be charged if she isn't willing to be bullied into saying something she didn't see? What should she do to protect the both of them?
