I live in Alabama and recently purchased a used car from an individual in the state. I have just discovered that the car has 3 times more miles on it than they advertised it as having. They claim that they had no idea that the odometer was wrong; however, we found the bill of sale, from when they purchased it, in the car. The bill of sale shows that the odometer reading is inaccurate, and their signature is on it. What laws have been broken, and what type of legal action can we take against them?
