YOUR STATE NAME - MO. We have a small trucking Co and had a husband and wife team . The 1999 Volvo Semi was leased onto a Company called Fleet Global . After returning from there last trip out, they imformed us that they had a mechanics lien against us , for failure to pay wages in full. They are refusing to return the truck to us untill we pay them 2,200 dollars . They neglected to turn in the proper paper work for us to get a payment from Fleet Global . We do not know how many miles they ran or what kind of advances where taken out. Today they called and treatened to take the wheels off of the truck and sell them . Is this legal in Mo. Can someone just steal your property ?

As long as that truck is in your name with your company logo on it, you're responsible. Someone drives it and wrecks you can be held responsible and if someone is injured it could cost you thousands or millions of dollars. For mechanics liens, unless they can prove they did necessary work to it, they can't put a mechanics lien on your truck. They would be very foolish to sell the tires, it's hard to put a semi truck on blocks and truck tires don't sell for what you allegedly owe them. You should consider reporting the truck stolen. Then, they could be in serious trouble, but contact a lawyer in your state to see if you can do that. I would definitely try to report the truck stolen, if they wanted their money they should've taken you to small claims court.
