Paying fines & fees before probation is over

I don't have the funds to pay for counceling, probation costs, evaluation for drug use, and I'm told it must be paid by the end of my probation period. What happens if I still owe money at that time? Also, I'm told my 2 yr. probation sentence is a privalege rather than going to jail. How much jail time would pay for 2 yr. probation, and can I ask for that instead of the probation?
