What is the name of your state? PA

On CourtTV and COPS you constantly see the busting of prostitution. This "business" has been around for years/hundreds of years. I asked someone before why it is illegal. He replied the same thing "aspirine vs cocaine" one is legal one is not.

(Other than obviously those carrying the HIV virus and drug addicted), why specifically is prositution illegal? Who passed law that is was illegal. Did some religion influence that?

The same question is bs when it comes to why prostitution is illegal but adult porn is not. One is and one isn't.

The "Why" might vary a great deal depoending on who answers it. The cynic might say it's because the government doesn't get a cut ... the moralist might say it is because it is sinful ... the realist might say that it is because of all the associated crimes (drugs, child abuse, neglect, rape, etc.) ... the list goes on.

You will believe whatever response you want to believe.
