maine: after being falsly accused of an incident and fired for it I expressed my indignation loudly with venom at the termination meeting. no violence.no threats.left before end of meeting.company and manager filed protection orderagainst me.a 100% pack of lies.made me seem like violent, alcoholic, verbally abusive, harassing, stalking manager and family. What can a person do to refute this kind of attack?can I file counter charges? can I file criminal charges because they have lied to obtain the summons/order?can I file civil suit?

Lying, or making knowingly false statements to the court is a crime. Can you *prove* they lied?

It's my understanding that temporary protective orders can be issued without your being notified, but a hearing must be held within 21 days which you can attend and present your side of the matter.

Were you not afforded this opportunity? If not write to the clerk of the court which issued the order and ask why not?
