What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Michigan

Misdemeanor: My 23 yr old daughter bought beer and proceeded to give some to an underage friend of hers in the parking lot of the store, only to be ticketed by an undercover police in the lot. The friend received an mip and my daughter received a citation for providing a minor with alcohol. It is her 1st offense (other than traffic ticket), and is ready to plead guilty and pay fines but is concerned about having a crime on her permanent public record. She is applying to graduate schools for a career in psychology/mental health and is worried how this will affect her future. She is very remorseful and is beating herself up for this stupid decision. After speaking to an attorney, he is ready to work for her to have her plead not guilty and attempt to have her charge lessened to littering or loitering, something without a criminal record. Does she stand as good a chance to go on probation and have this not show up on her public record if she just goes in and pleads guilty, hoping for a chance to have this matter taken under advisement with chance for probation?
