ok so this is my first offense (yeah it was stupid) and i'd just like to know what's going to go on with my record. i'm 17. they didn't arrest me or anything, they just asked for identification, took down some information, and now i have to pay a fine. is that all?

That's all... Usually big stores will not prosecute if the theft is under a certain dollar amount... so they impose a nice fine to teach you a lesson... but no, nothing goes on your record unless you went before a judge
