What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? maryland my wife was cleaning my sons room and she threw a childs play chair on the bed it bounced up and hit my son in the head it left a goose egg my brothers girlfriend called dss well they pressed second degree assault charges on her i was not home but i asked my son what happened he told me the chair hit the bed then hit him he jumped in front of it can she be found guilty even though she did not do it intentionally my wife never even spanks the kids i feel this is really wrong because it was an accident any thoughts would help.

You need to look up the criminal statute and see what it says.

Of course she may be found guilty if the charge fits. How old is your son?
