sexting question

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CO

I have a girl who I met in NY this summer emailing me. She claims to be 19
I'm 21.

She keeps asking me for pictures (nude)
I haven't sent her anything.

Is there anything I can get in trouble for for doing so?

What happens if shes not or something?

Can I get in trouble if she lied about her age?

Yes, of course you can get into trouble. You have no idea whom you are talking to. Who knows, maybe it's a police sting operation. Be careful, and try to use much better judgement in the future.

If she lied about her age and she's a minor then you can get into trouble sending her nude pictures. You not knowing her true age because she lied is not a defense.

I wouldn't worry too much about a police sting, though. Dave33 seems a bit paranoid about the police.

Best bet is to ignore this girl from now on.

What, you've never watched Dateline? To Catch A Predator? Chris Hanson? Any of this ringing any bells?

If not, I suggest a google search. Federal stings of this nature can and do occur.

Of course, a police sting where an officer pretends to be a 19 year old girl would be a waste of everyone's time. So yes, you can be fairly sure it's not a sting.

What you can't be sure about at all is the girl's age, so it would be a bad idea to comply with the request.

it is possible she may not be lying, but just make sure before you send any nude photos to her. ask her to photo copy her id and email it to you.

Yeah, because ID's could never be faked, huh?

And if she sends her 22 year old sister's ID, he would know how?

and of course people never meet online...

If you are all scared, tell her your camera doesn't have a long enough lens.

Whip out a credit card and get her or yourself a greyhound ticket to see each other.

If she wants to see your junk, it is a good bet she is good to go.

Just saying.
