What is the name of your state? NEW YORK

I was arrested for petit larceny in NYC - valuing $66. At the time of arrest, the officers did not state the charge nor did they read me Miranda rights, though they were asking me questions in the car to the station.
I have a court date coming up, and would like to know what will happen. I'm 22, with no record, no prior offenses, no nothing.
What will be the penalties if I'm convicted (please note what will happen if I plead guilty and what will happen if I plead not guilty). I understand petit larceny is a class A misdemeanor, which I read usually gets 1 year of probation and a fine. Is that correct? If so, what will the probation involve? Are you allowed to leave the state or country during that year?

Thanks for your help.
