State: Indiana
My significant other is being charged with class C felony (burgurly) and a class D felony (theft)... What happened in short: He stole some aluminum sheets from a company, got pulled over after leaving the warehouse. He was taken into questioning that night, however released that night because the police were unable to contact the company. The detective was nice enough to give him the offer to OR him when he turned himself in to avoid missing too much school. He did that and had the initial hearing the next morning where he entered a plea of not guilty and got a lawyer assigned to him because he couldn't afford one.... He has a court date set for a couple months from now.
However, he is considering running because of the 'statute of limitations'? Is there even a statute of limitations for felonies? If there is how long is it?(I don't know if it matters, but it is the state that is pressing charges)
