A friend contacted me recently about a book he is thinking of publishing. He was a counselor and I was a camper at a camp in NH back in the mid 70s. He was 22 and was sleeping with a girl who was 16. He now lives in Europe and is concerned about the ramifications of publishing this. Could he be arrested the next time he comes into the US? What is the Statute of Limitations on this crime?

The statute of limitations runs 22 years from the victims 18th birthday.
If there area already charges/warrants out, then the statute doesn't even apply. The statute also might be tolled (extended) under certain circumstances.

However, if she was 16, there's no statutory rape. The age of consent in NH is 16 for heterosexual encounters.
