What is the legal age of consent in Texas on Statutory rape? I have a 17 year old girl who is now pregnant by a 22 year male. He is married, not living with the wife and already has a 4 year old. What are my legal rights as her parent on charges against this man?

I'm not a lawyer, but I've spent a few short minutes looking up Texas laws and statutes online, and it appears that the child must be UNDER 17 for it to be a specific crime.

Thank you for your reply. We have since talked to the District Attoryney's office and since she will be 18 in a few weeks there's really nothing we can do but offer to help and be there for her when this guy takes off. I'm sure this will be more than he can deal with.
