in virginia, what are the statutory rape laws? one of my friends says that even if you go out with somone who is under 18 and you are over that could be considered statutory rape?! i find this very hard to belive. my friend is 23 and he is interested in a 17yr old girl. should he wait to date her until she is 18 or can they date now, and just wait to have sex????
