tax return theft

i went to Jackson Hewitt to do my taxes. an employee there stole my $4000 + tax return and cashed it. i have the local police involved. how much could i sue Jackson Hewitt for this and what could i expect to gain for the effort? also, there bank is giving me a hard time about reissuing my return, can i take them to court as well?
